Peter Scarpelli Obituary
Peter "Mac" Scarpelli passed away peacefully at his beloved home in Cos Cob on Wednesday, November 17. His passing was unexpected and his loss will be felt by many generations of people that knew and loved him. Mac was 93 years old. He is survived by two daughters, Maria (Andy) Stevens, Patricia (Carlo) Salvatore; five grandchildren, three great grand children and one more on the way. Family and friends are welcome to celebrate Mac's life on Sunday, November 28 from 2-6 p.m. at Castiglione Funeral Home. Funeral will be held on Monday, November 29 at St. Catherine of Siena in Riverside at 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife Anne at St. Mary's Cemetery.

My condolences to the entire Scarpelli Family. I will miss talking to Mac as he always made me feel special. Mac would always remind me I made his all time all-star team for Kiwanis baseball team as his starting catcher. Those are great memories. I will miss him.

All of Cos Cob and Pleasant Street will miss Mac! He is the Pleasant Street I will remember. We are sorry we missed Mac´s service at St. Catherine´s as we were put of town. He and his brother Isaac will always be remembered for the Diamond Hill Liquor store and Scarpelli´s store on Bible Street. We will miss the famous " Scarpelli´s Sausage! He will always be remembered as a member of our Cos Cob family. Mac will be missed by many as he is a Cos Cob legend. My Grandfather " Popi Lucas always visited the Bible Street store with his dog Runt! God Bless "Mac" and may he RIP - There are tears in my eyes as I write this memorial.

My husband loved to go there on Saturdays to buy sausage and sopressata from Mac. Upon learning that Mac enjoyed oysters on the half shell, he started detouring up to Copp's Island (in the opposite direction) to bring Mac fresh oysters. We were so happy to hear that Mac shared the secret recipe so that folks will be able to enjoy the Scarpelli legacy. Rest easy Mac and thanks for your many years, as Mr. Sausage.

Condolences to The Scarpelli Family I was at the store a while ago he was asleep in a chair it was so cute a man that was in the store woke him up so I could get his famous dried sausage .Years ago we would hang at Bible St. Park Let's go to Scarps they would say to get candy or a soda . !He was certainly an angel who earned his wings Rest in Peace Mr Scarpelli God Bless you.

To the entire Scarpelli family, Sincerely sympathy on Mack's passing. The end of an era of THE BEST SAUSAGE! I'll always remember walking up to Scarpelli's to get 50 cents worth of bologna or a 5 cent Hershey bar. What memories. Love & sympathy to all.
