Ruth E. Ball

MRS. RUTH E. BALL, 92, died July 22, 2010 at the Rosenthal Hospice in Stamford of natural causes. A memorial service for her will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010, in the Crawford Chapel of the Rye Presbyterian Church, at 882 Boston Post Road, Rye, New York. Mrs. Ball was born February 12, 1918, in Philadelphia Pa. to Robert Anton and Antonetta (Tinsel) Anton. She grew up in Miami Fla., and graduated from Miami High School. She attended the University of Miami, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree. In 1945, she married James W. Ball and moved to California. She moved to Kentucky in 1956, to New York State in 1958, and to Greenwich in 1976. She worked at International Business Machines from 1960 until her retirement in 1990. She was a member of the Rye Presbyterian Church for 51 years. Mrs. Ball is survived by her son, Steven, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her sister, Marie Woodley. Donations may be sent to The Greenwich Hospital.
