Solange Rehm

Solange Rehm, 85 passed away Sunday morning at her residence, Jackson Oaks in Jefferson. She was born, Solange Marie-Louise Dominique Tinel in Montpellier, France. Her family tree could be traced to the family of Joan of Arc and included an ancestor who received the Legion of Honor Medal from Napoleon. She led an unusual and interesting life. She was a survivor beginning with the bombing of a Nazi munitions train near her home during WWII. She also survived cancer, COVID, and scoliosis. She was an active member of AA for 39 years. She moved to Paris to attend La Sorbonne, University of Paris where she met her first husband, Michel Cornier who was a member of the French diplomatic corps. They moved to Germany (Ramstein AFB), then to Bangkok, Thailand for four years and then to Chicago II and later to Atlanta, GA where they divorced. There she met her future husband, Leonard Rehm who she married in 1993. For his jobs, they moved to Dallas, TX, then Nampa, Idaho and Jackson, MS before returning the Atlanta. Upon Leonard's retirement, they moved to Jefferson, GA where they renovated a 100 year old house and lived together until she had to move to memory care in March 2022. Solange is survived by her husband Leonard Rehm, her three children Magali Michael a Dean at the University of South Florida, Martine Gallard an architect with offices in Paris and Chablis, France and her son Marc-Andre Cornier an Endocrinologist in North Carolina. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Valerie, Brian, Pierre, Louis, Luc and Brielle. "And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying 'Who shall I send and who will go for us?
