Family-Placed Obituary


DENNIS, Stanley Robert Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2004, at Willow Knoll Retirement Community due to complications following an extended illness. He was a WWII veteran, serving with the United States Navy in the South Pacific. He was born in Menifee County, Kentucky on February 13, 1917, moving to the Monroe area in 1933. He retired from the, then, Armco Steel Corporation in 1979, with 29 years of service. He was a devoted husband and father and was preceded in death by his parents, Porter and Amelia (Campbell) Dennis; a brother, Earl Dennis; and a sister, Juanita Adams. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Alice (Wilhoit) Dennis of Trenton; two brothers, Carl of Greenwich, CT and Ray of Middletown; five sisters, Bonnie Gray, Lilly Pence, Wanda Dearth & Joyce Walden of Middletown, and Irene Cable of Melbourne, FL; two daughters, Marla Raisch of Germantown, OH and Donna Wilson of Murfreesboro, TN; four sons, Gary of Franklin, Larry of Lakeland, FL, Michael of Antigua, Guatemala, Martin of Reynoldsburg, OH; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and numerous friends and extended family members. He was a member of the Trenton Church of the Nazarene for over fifty years, serving in numerous positions of responsibility, church board member, trustee, Sunday School teacher, minister of music, and long time greeter. He was a faithful visitor of the sick and absentees. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2004 from 5 - 7 pm at the Trenton Church of the Nazarene with funeral service immediately following at the church at 7 pm, with Dr. Douglas VanNest officiating. A graveside service will be held Friday at 10:00 am at Woodside Cemetery. Memorial donations may be sent to Trenton Church of the Nazarene, 220 N. Miami, Trenton, OH 45067. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss. I will always remember the times that I spent at Stanley and Alice's during summer vacation when they lived in the big home in Trenton. I really enjoyed my visits and I always was made to feel at home while I was there. I will remeber Stanley as a very happy and caring man.



I am sorry that I can't be there with you during this time but, you will all be in my thoughts.
