Adelaide Ross Obituary

Adelaide (Dentamaro) Ross, 84, of South Windsor, beloved wife of 58 years to the late Lionel Ross, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home surrounded by loving family, on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Adelaide was born on December 3, 1938, in Hartford, daughter of the late Anthony and Antoinette (Veccherelli) Dentamaro. She lived most of her life in South Windsor. Adelaide was a graduate of East Hartford High School and Manchester Community College. She was retired from Society for Savings Bank and American Eagle Federal Credit Union. Adelaide is survived by her three children, a son Daniel and wife Carmela of South Windsor, a son Rick and wife Heidi of Ellington, and a faithful and caring daughter and best friend, Kimberly Ravalese of Tolland. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jonathan, Christina, Lauren, Tyler and Brooke Ross and a most precious Nicholas Ravalese whom she adored and was extremely close to! Adelaide also leaves her sister-in-law, Carol Dentamaro, sister-in-law Rejeanne Ross, brother-in-law, Steve Stevenson, and many nieces and nephews. The following siblings predeceased her, a brother Nicholas Dentamaro, a sister Louise Paquette and brother-in-law Edmond, brother Joseph Dentamaro and sister-in-law Joanne, and a sister Antionette Stevenson.

Adelaide greatly valued life but her greatest joy was her treasured family and friends. She often was excited about helping her daughter and grandson Nicholas as a volunteer at several Make-A-Wish events throughout the years. All who knew Adelaide knew she could not hear music without getting up to dance. The world is dimmer because of Adelaide's passing but her amazing legacy and light lives on in those who had the pleasure of knowing her and having had her cross their path in life, even if briefly.

In accordance with Adelaide's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Church in Tolland, on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10am, followed by a procession to the Connecticut State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown for burial with her late husband. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association in support of finding a cure. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. We will fondly remember the brief time we had with Adelaide playing Bean Bag Toss at the Tolland Senior Center. She lit up when she was with us and always gave it her all! Her laughter was infectious
and she will be missed.
