Edward KRAUS Obituary

KRAUS, Edward John Edward John Kraus, 77, of Ellington, went to join his loving wife Helen Claire (Fontaine) Kraus in heaven on Tuesday (June 1, 2010). He was born in Hartford, February 15, 1933, son of the late Adolph and Sophie (Abramek) Kraus. Before his retirement, he was employed by ITT-Hartford Group Incorporated. He was a veteran of the Korean War where he served in Germany. He was a member of the Rockville Elks Club and was an avid golfer. He will be missed by his loving family; his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Greg Roszczewski of Vernon; his son, Edward R. Kraus of Ellington; his sister and brother-in-law, Ginger and Walter Lepko of Bristol; and his sister-in-law, Nancy Kraus of Ellington. He also leaves his grandchildren, Aaron, Martha, Bridget and Catherine Roszczewski and Steven Kraus; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard; and his sister, Patricia. Relatives and friends are welcomed on Thursday, June 3, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard's Church, Rockville on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 10 a.m. Burial with full Military honors will follow at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Vernon. To Eddie's wonderful family,

Today I learned that Eddie passed away and I am deeply saddened. He was such a sweet man and I enjoyed him very much. He always made me feel so welcome. I will miss him dearly and regret not spending more time with him. My apologies for not being there to share my condolences.

Dearest Kathy and Ed, my sincere condolences to you and your family. I had the great pleasure of getting to know your dad these last couple of months, and it was my pleasure to help and assist him in his last days. He lived quite a life from what he shared with me.
