Florence Switzer Obituary

SWITZER, Florence Louise -- Passed away peacefully in her home in Campbell, CA on Saturday, July 19, 2003 after a yearlong battle with cancer. Born in Stockton, CA on July 25, 1924, Flo would have celebrated her 79th birthday next week. She is survived by her 4 children, Sandy Grey (Dave), Jennifer Harber (Joseph), Brad Christofferson (Lori) and Bruce Christofferson (Grace); 7 grandchildren, Lisa, Michelle, Claire, Troy, Matthew, Madeline and Sage; 3 great-grandsons William, Andrew and David; sister Ruth Hollenbeck; brother Joseph Lillard; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Flo was a loving, dedicated mother and grandmother. After retiring from Sears as a floor-covering specialist she enjoyed her life to the fullest. This year Flo celebrated 27 years of sobriety with Alcoholics Anonymous. She loved the game of contract bridge and succeeded to become a Life Master. Flo kept active by volunteering for the registrar of voters, AA main office, and her former residence, Rincon Gardens. She loved to to out with friends and her daughter Jennifer and sing Karaoke. Family and friends are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Flo's life Saturday, July 26 at 1 p.m. at Rincon Gardens, 400 W. Rincon Ave., Campbell, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Flo's memory to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, Texas 75265-0309 (www.komen.org).
