I didn't know until today. I'm so sorry. "Big Gerry" was an AWESOME guy. I'm grateful that I had the opportunity/fortune to know him. I'm sad now that I know. A true "Man's man".

Judy, Nancy and family,
I'll never forget all the times I tried to hang out with Frankie and Gerry when I was a kid. Just to go for a ride with them was a thrill. We had so many laughs.
Gerry called me Cuch's little sister.

We are so sorry to hear about Gerry. Gerry and I go back over 60 years growing up in the southwest part of Hartford. My Mom and Dad were good friends with Gerry's Mom and Dad.

My hearfelt sympathy to the Strong family on the passing of Jerry. It was just a month or two ago we were playing cards at the Knights of Columbus and he was his usual self. He loved his family, his friends, and his faith. He will be truly missed by many. God Bless.

I remember like it was yesterday the times in Hartford on Grant Street and all the fun we all had growing up. I'll never forget Jerry and the laughs we all had with my brother Sam, Eddie, Diane, Frank, Rita, Lydia and myself playing cards in the Capparelli house and the Strong's Parties-what fun. My Mom remembers one time getting a call while working at Travelers from a neighbor "your kids are running in and out of your house". We had clean-laughing fun. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers goes to you and your family and Jerry's family.

Judy, Jennifer, Amy, Katie and the rest of the Strong family:
Words are so hard to find right now. It feels like a dream. Jerry was a very special person who always made you laugh whatever the situation was. We will treasure our wonderful years of friendship we shared. We will always remember our trips to Florida, Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, Atlantic City, St. Mary's, Newington High, our kids' weddings, babies, etc. There is a huge hole in Danny's heart to lose his best friend. We are so blessed to have said our goodbyes to him. God has a special angel now in heaven. Jerry R.I.P. and we will love you forever!!!

Judy, Jen, Amy, Kate....we are very saddened to hear the news about Gerry. We have all had so many great memories of him whether it was sitting together and cheering our girls at SMS,NHS, or AAU hoop games, coaching our 6th graders to the New England championship, or just being with him at functions at Saint Mary's (he always loved the Christmas concerts!). He had a great sense of humor and a quick wit.He loved his family above everything else and he would do anything to support his loved ones. One of the true "good guys" you meet in life.
