Jeffrey Michael "Haz" Hazard

1967 - 2019

Jeffrey Michael Hazard (Haz), 52, of Simsbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2019, at UCONN John Dempsey Hospital. He was born in Hartford, the son of William B. Hazard Sr. and Mary (Fortin) Hazard. He was educated in Simsbury schools and was a 1985 graduate of Simsbury High School. Jeff was a master electrician and achieved his E-1 certification. He worked for Airway Electric Company for many years. Jeff was an avid golfer, he played baseball and hockey for Simsbury High School and he was a fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. Some of Jeff's fondest memories were with friends seeing the Grateful Dead. He also loved playing broom hockey. However, his greatest joy was his family, he loved spending time with his sons playing mini golf, catch, video games and going to the beach. He was especially proud of his son's achievements both academically and athletically. He is survived by his parents William B. Hazard Sr. and Mary Hazard of Simsbury, his brother; William B. Hazard Jr. of Simsbury, his sons, Andrew Shaffer Hazard and Trevor Stanton Hazard of North Granby, their mother: Kristin Hazard and her partner Andrew Reed of North Granby, his partner Debbie Ferreira of Simsbury and her children Dakota Ferreira, Brianna Ferreira and Zachary Ferreira. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday February 27, 2019 from 10AM to 12PM at Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon, a Funeral Service will begin at 12PM. Burial will follow in Simsbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to assist his sons, Andrew and Trevor, in care of Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center.
