Jennifer Duncan Obituary

Jennifer Lynn Duncan, 46, of North Granby, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, in Simsbury. Born in South Bend, IN on May 23, 1971, daughter of Scott M. Duncan and the late Linda (Oberg) Duncan. Jennifer was a talented athlete and played on the Avon varsity basketball and volleyball teams. She graduated from Avon High School with the class of 1989. Her passion for sports led her to become a coach for the Avon Girls JV basketball team. After high school, she attended the University of Connecticut for two years before deciding to pursue a career as a hair stylist. Jennifer worked at New Creations in Granby and later in East Granby for over 25 years. She was loved by her clients, many of whom became friends. She was well known for her talent, creativity, and attention to detail. She was an avid New York Yankees and New England Patriots fan and loved watching all sports. In her spare time, Jennifer enjoyed music, cooking, baking, and entertaining her family and friends. She had a smile that lit up a room, was always happy, and loved being around people. She was an active part of her Girls Club where she served as the treasurer for many years. Jennifer also had a special love for animals and was particularly close to her dog, Yukon. She leaves her father, Scott M. Duncan of North Granby; a sister, Laura Corsini, her husband Andre and their son Dylan of Mansfield; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She shared a very special bond with her beloved nephew, Dylan. Her family will receive friends on Sunday, March 25, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by a memorial service and reception at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Road, Windsor. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Granby Ambulance Association, 1 Pegville Road, Granby, CT 06035. Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home in Granby has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.
