John Bouchard Obituary

Formerly of Litchfield, CT, J. Thomas ("Tom") Bouchard passed away peacefully at home in Denver, CO, surrounded by family, on July 27, 2018. Born in Los Angeles, CA on July 10, 1940, Tom attended Loyola High School and Loyola Marymount University, earning his Bachelor's degree in 1962. Tom leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Michele. He was a very devoted father to his five daughters: Jeanne LaVake (Mark) of Carlsbad, CA; Claire Bouchard of Fort Collins, CO; Amy Berning (Rich) of Albany, NY; Megan Cope of Highlands Ranch, CO; and Nicole Debrovner (John) of Evergreen, CO. In addition to his five daughters, Tom leaves behind 13 beloved grandchildren, as well as his sister, Mary Clare Zovich of San Luis Obispo, CA and Ann Westigard of Manhattan Beach, CA. Tom's career in Human Resources began at Mattel Corp in 1962. He would go on to lead a very successful career as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at United Technologies Corporation in Hartford, CT, US West in Denver, CO and, finally, IBM in Armonk, NY. After retirement in 2000, Tom continued to be active on several national boards, including Nordstrom Bank, HealthNet and Manpower. Tom was respected by business colleagues, treasured by friends, and adored by his family. He will be deeply missed by all. A Catholic mass will be held on Monday August 6, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Good Shepherd, 2626 E, 7th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80206. The family requests donations be made in Tom's name to either Jesuits West (8505 Washington Boulevard, Culver City, CA 90232), Church of the Good Shepherd (2626 E. 7th Avenue Parkway, Denver, CO 80206) or Halcyon Hospice (PO Box 177, Mead, CO 80524).

Each of us can count on one hand the people who have made the most difference in our careers. Tom was certainly one of those people for me. He was a great teacher and mentor. I am very sorry I didn't know he had returned to Denver or that he was ill for so long. Tom, you created a great team. As you were fond of saying, "What a squad." Thank you, Connie McArthur

Mike

I just learned of the passing of your great husband Tom. I was not as good as I should have been in calling him and that really saddens me. I am asking my Jesuit son to offer a Mass for Tom. Please let your family know how widely respected he was by anyone that encountered him. A real loss
