My condolences to the Family. My career overlapped John's in the 1970/80's at Connecticut Mutual Life. Our paths crossed many times during that period, & I fondly recall his focus, dedication & good humor. God bless John & those he loved, Sincerely, Jack Gies

I was so very sorry to learn of John's passing. He hired me in 1987 to be an operations consultant at CML. I left the company in 1995 to join MML and was delighted to find myself working with John again when the companies merged. He was a straight-shooter, a man who pulled no punches. He managed firmly but fairly. We continued to be email buds after retirement and I will miss the jokes he passed along. We didn't align politically but respected our differences. I will miss him and send my sincere sympathies to you, the family. Respectfully,Mary Willmuth
