Leopold Helenski Obituary

Leopold William Helenski, 90, of Lincoln Street, Kensington, the widower of Lena Louise (Ficai) Helenski, died Sunday morning. (July 20, 2003) at New Britain General Hospital. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Paul and the late Victoria (Pabis) Helenski, he graduated from New Britain High School, served in the US Army in World War II, graduated from Indiana Technical College in 1949, and was most recently employed at Helenski-Zimmerer Associates until his retirement. He was a member of St. Paul Church, and A.S.H.R.A.E., the Connecticut Audubon Society, and the National Wildlife Federation. He is survived by a son, Paul F. Helenski of Kensington; a daughter, Cecelia A. Helenski of Havertown, PA; two sisters, Anne Miklos and Genevieve Feore, both of New Britain; and several nieces; and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Julian Helenski; and two sisters, Helen Bonola and Anastasia Klatka. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 9 a.m. from Porter's Funeral Home, 111 Chamberlain Highway in Kensington, with a Funeral Liturgy at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Church on Alling Street. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends and relatives are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Those who wish may make donations in his memory to the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Connecticut, 205 West Main Street, New Britain 06052, or the American Heart Association, P.O.
