PREGULMAN, Merv
Merv Pregulman, of Chattanooga, TN, died November 28, 2012, age 90. Born in Lansing, MI, he was the son of the late George and Matilda (Shulman) Pregulman and pre-deceased in death by his brother-in-law, Dr. Nathan Dubin. He graduated from the Uniiversity of Michigan where he was named All-American in football by both Grantland Rice and Bill Stern at center, tackle, guard, linebacker and kicker. Merv received the Gerald R. Ford Award, the highest honor the University bestows on a former athlete. He served in the navy in WW II and played professional football for the Green Bay Packers, the Detroit Lions and the New York Bulldogs. Merv was the former president of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga and a trustee of the University of Chattanooga. He was CEO and one of the founders of the Siskin Physical Rehabilitation Center and Children's Institute.He is survived by his wife Helen; four children and ten grandchildren; his sister Renee Dubin of West Hartford; and nieces Libet, Wendy, Susan and Pamela Dubin.
