Patricia Owens Obituary

Patricia S. Owens, 89 of Enfield, CT, beloved wife to predeceased husband, Kendall F. Owens, Sr., of 57 years, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Kimberly Hall Nursing Home. Patricia was the daughter of Reed and Ruth Stoughton, born in Portland Maine August 17, 1933. She spent her summers at Sebago Lake and grew up in Portland, Maine, graduating from Deering High School. She later moved to East Hartford, where she met the love of her life and settled down in Enfield, raising their four children. During those years she worked selling Sarah Coventry jewelry and then at Milton Bradley in the factory making games. Pat was a homemaker for many years while her children grew and then returned to Milton Bradley as an executive secretary, retiring in 1992. Pat was a resident of Enfield from 1958 through 2016 and was a longtime member of United Methodist Church, where she served on many committees and enjoyed volunteering her time. Pat assisted in coordinating Breakthrough to the Aging Friendly Shoppers and Friendly Visitors program through the Enfield Senior Center. She loved music, tai chi, reading, and traveling. Pat was a member of the Red Hat Society for many years and enjoyed lunch, teas, and trips with her friends. Pat was also certified in Reiki healing touch and Tibetan singing bowls, and always eager to learn more.

Pat will be lovingly remembered by her children, Susan and her husband, Red Bisaillon of South Windsor, Kendall F. Owens Jr. and his wife, Lisa, of Newington, Reed Owens and his wife, Laura, of Broad Brook, and David Owens, of West Springfield, MA, and their cherished grandchildren, Peter, Jennifer, Michelle, Bryan, Joseph, Kevin, Christopher, and Allison and great-grandchildren, Brooke, Isabella, Thomas and Amelia.

Pat's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at The Residence at South Windsor Farms, where Pat resided for the last six years of her life. They were and always will be part of our family. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the staff at Kimberly Hall North for the caring support they provided during Pat's last few days.

Family and friends may gather for a funeral service celebrating Patricia's life on Friday, February 3, at 12:00 PM at the Hazardville United Methodist Church, 330 Hazard Ave., Enfield, CT. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at the family's convenience in Brooklawn Memorial Park in Portland, Maine.
