About 55 years ago "mr. francoeur" was one of my teachers and mentors at Sedgwick Junior High School in West Hartford. His demeanor and manner of interacting with his students was certainly an important model for me over the years as to how to interact with others. Throughout the years I would bump into him in greater Hartford and always experienced that wonderful smile and respectful manner that he always showed others. I'm very grateful to have known him. On behalf of Principal/Chief Administrator Margaret Williamson and the entire Northwest Catholic High School community, I offer my deepest sympathy on Mr. Francoeur's death. Because his children -- Michael Francoeur ’76, Mary-Anne Francoeur Baldassarre ’78, and Edward Francoeur '82 -- and his granddaughter, Kathleen Baldassarre '09, were members of our school family, we feel that he was, too, and we mourn his passing along with all of you. We have remembered the Francouer family in our schoolwide prayers for the past several days, and will continue to do so in the days and weeks to come. We are very sorry for your loss.

I'll always remember my uncle very fondly. As a child, I knew him as Uncle Roland and he always made me feel special whenever he asked me how I was doing. I'll can still see the twinkle in his eyes and the smile on his face as spoke with me and all the nieces and nephews. I am honored and love that I share his name.

Dear Francoeur Family:

Mike was a wonderful man, good friend, fellow Rotarian and inspiration. I have so many fond memories - honoring him for his 92nd birthday at Rotary surrounded by his family and friends; his unending devotion to Salvation Army and gathering of Rotarian's to ring the Bell every Christmas; and, partying with Mathew Modine at Hartford Stage. I will miss him so.

God Speed Mike.

Dear Francoeur Family,

Bob and I bought our house at OLS 24 years ago when our sons were 7, 9 and 11. He always took an interest in them with his ties to WH, Mr. Morrisey and more. Coincidentally, I had just finished my first Dale Carnegie course and at our first OLS meeting, I was so impressed by Mike, president at that time, and what a wonderful speaker he was. He made me feel confident in speaking to groups. Little did I know, it was him...Dale Carnegie's protege, Mike, that gave me the confidence and courage I needed.

God bless!

I fondly remember a dynamic Mike Francoeur with Marie by his side, running the Dale Carnegie Course in either the Bond Hotel or the Statler, I think, in maybe 1956, 57 or 58. Lots of energy and lots of commitment.

Dear Francoeur Family,

Remembering back to the mid 1950's when I attended Sedgwick Jr. High, I recall how Mr. Francoeur took a sincere interest in me and helped me immensely. Years later in the 1970's, I participated in his Dale Carnegie Course and once again he was of great assistance in helping me overcome my absolute fear of public speaking.
I'm forever thankful to him.

To The Francoeur Family

It was with sadness that we read of Mike's passing while we are here in Honolulu for the winter. We were fortunate to know him as a colleague, friend and admired educator in West Hartford. His family, Dale Carnegie and the many community organizations he supported were very important to him, and through them he made a positive difference. We value highly our many associations with him and are much better off for having known him.

Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. We send our sincere sympathy.

Dear Michael, Mary Ann and Edward,
We were so sorry to hear about your dad. Having been next door neighbors for many years, we had many opportunities to interact with him (and your mom). They were wonderful neighbors, and friends. Your dad was friendly, charming, funny and a delight to be around. He left a great family which he loved immensely. He will be missed by many.
Fondly,
Dick and Muriel

To all of the Francoeur Family,
We send our deepest sympathy to all of you. Mr. Francoeur was a very special teacher at Sedgwick Junior High.
As an adult, I still called him Mr, as we worked on Chamber of Commerce issues and the Rotary Club. He was a very bright star, who made a difference in many lives.
In sympathy,
Bill and Linda French

My deepest sympathy to Mary-Anne and Michael. Your Dad and I arrived at Rockville High at the same time. He was a great friend and was an usher at our wedding. We spent many happy hours with your Dad and Mother at the shore and when they visited us in Maine. I lasr saw him in Dec. when he spoke at my husbands memorial service. He loved his family and always talked about them fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Ellen Fagan Kennebunk ME

Dear Michael, Mary-Ann and Eddie, our family grieves with you for the loss of such a fine man. Your dad was a wonderful friend to our parents over many, many years, and a mentor to all of the Merritt kids. God bless him now as he is reunited with your dear mom and at rest.
My dad commented, "Mike F. was ready to leave us. We talked recently and many times last summer about how he anxiously awaited his reunion with Marie. Bless his spotless soul and may he rest in peace with God for all eternity".
With Love and respect, Polly
