RAUCH Robert L. Robert L. Rauch, 75 of Mapleridge Dr., Torrington, died peacefully Wednesday (August 9, 2006) at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Suzanne (Fiolek) Rauch for 49 years. Born in Torrington November 17, 1930, he was the son of the late Lawrence and Lucy (Maigret) Rauch. He was a graduate of Torrington High School Class of 1948 and received a B.S. degree from the University of Connecticut after serving in Japan for the US Air Force during the Korean War. Later, he went on to earn a Master's degree from the University of Hartford. He was employed by The Torrington Company for 41 years where he retired as Manager of Financial Services. Bob served for over 20 years as a board member with the Torrington Area Youth Service Bureau. He was also on the Board of Directors for the Northwest Child & Family Services. An active member of St. Francis, he was on the Parish Council, helped establish the Home School Association and was Scout Master for St. Francis Boy Scout Troop #9. He was a member of Torrington Elks Lodge and the VFW. In addition to his wife, he leaves six children, Robert Rauch Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Chappaqua, NY, Edward Rauch and his wife Annette of Clinton, NJ, Julianne Connolly and husband Gerard of Foxboro, MA, Jayne Stocker and husband Richard of Burlington, Ellen Liquindoli of Plantsville and Catherine Lazo and husband Michael of Framingham, MA. He also leaves his brother, Rev. Edward L. Rauch OSFS of Philadelphia, PA. He was loved and adored by his 14 grandchildren, Kristen, Gwen and Erik Rauch, Andrea and Edward Rauch Jr., Shane, Andrew, and Mitchell Connolly, Emily, Amanda and Jack Stocker, Rachel and Natalie Liquindoli and Jake Lazo. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 12, 10 a.m. from Phalen Funeral Home, 285 Migeon Ave., Torrington, to Saint Francis Church, 160 Main St., Torrington for a Mass at 10:30 a.m. celebrated by his brother Rev. Edward L. Rauch OSFS. Burial will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Phalen Funeral Home TODAY from 5-8 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to The Center for Cancer Care, 200 Kennedy Dr., Torrington, CT 06790 or to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 North Halsted St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60622.

We are friends of Mr. Rauch's daughter, Jayne Stocker and we are so sad and sorry to hear of your loss. May many wonderful memories of years past help you through this very difficult time. If you share the strength we have seen in Jayne, you will get through this. God Bless you all.
