Rudolph Tardiff Obituary

Rudolph "Rudy" Tardiff was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend. He entered into eternal life on Friday, November 17, 2023 at his home with his wife and daughters by his side.

He was born to Joseph and Bernice (Belanger) Tardif on March 31, 1930 in Van Buren, Maine. He grew up on the family farm with his eleven siblings until he married his high school sweetheart, Vivian on November 25, 1952 and moved to Connecticut. They shared a love of dancing, which their grandchildren enjoyed watching. They would have celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary this week.

Rudy was a faithful communicant and an active participant of St. Christopher Church, East Hartford for over 60 years. He worked for Pratt & Whitney for 33 years as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and especially working in his vegetable garden, which took up most of his backyard. He was always handing out bags of vegetables.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Beverly Collins and Barbara Lynn Tardiff. He was predeceased by his daughter Deborah Fallacaro, son Mark Tardiff, and son-in-law Ronald Collins.

He leaves behind six grandchildren, all of whom brought him much joy, Jessica & Patrick Lacasse, Gregory & Barbra Bottaro, Elizabeth & Kevin Klemonski, Danielle & Dave Brower, Eric Bottaro, Nicholas & Kristi Bottaro; and nineteen great grandchildren, Chase, Avery, Elijah, Francesca, Gabriel, Avila, Joseph, Petra, David, Ryan, Brielle, Cody, Jackson, Ethan, Lucas, Gemma, Jonathen, Anthony, and Giovanni.

He is survived by six siblings, Viola Sirois, Roderick Tardif, Gene Tardiff, Dan Tardif, Marie Bouchard, and Nancy Holibird; and he was predeceased by five siblings, Muriel Lebel, Constance LaRosa, John Tardiff, Leo Tardif, and Bill Tardiff.

Funeral service will be Saturday (November 25, 2023) with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 am at St. Christopher Church of St. Edmund Campion Parish, 538 Brewer Street, East Hartford. The family has asked that everyone please go directly to the church on Saturday morning. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery, (Section E), East Hartford. Rudy's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday (November 24, 2023) from 4 – 6 pm at the D'Esopo East Hartford Memorial Chapel, 30 Carter Street, East Hartford.
