Howrey Kersh Obituary
Hattiesburg
Howrey H. Kersh, age 87, passed away at his home September 2, 2013, surrounded by his family. Howrey was a WWII veteran, a U.S. Marine, a Marine Engineer, and a Control Room Supervisor at Masonite in Laurel prior to his retirement at age 80.
He is survived by his wife, Floanne Kersh of Hattiesburg; two sons, Howard J. Kersh of Birmingham, AL, and James C. Seymore of Columbia, MS; two daughters, Kimberly Amacker of Hattiesburg, and Kecia Burcham of Nashville, TN; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Grace Aikens and Ann Touchstone, both of Hattiesburg.
Following a family celebration of his life held on September 4, Howrey will be honored at The YMCA where he was an active member in the adult program. A gathering of his friends will be held at the YMCA on Thursday, September 12, at 11 a.m. As a lover of dogs, in lieu of flowers, Howrey's wish was a contribution to the Alabama Chapter of SOS Beagle Rescue.
