Marie "Dee Dee" Coleman

Marie (Dee Dee) Coleman passed away peacefully on Nov. 13, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born to John & Anna McRae in Denver, and spent her early years there before the family moved to the Seattle area. After graduating from Issaquah High School in 1952, Dee Dee met and married Richard (Dick) Coleman in 1953. They moved to Southern California where their four children were born, eventually moving back to the Seattle area in the mid-1960s to be closer to their extended family.
Dee Dee retired from her job as secretary to the Bellevue, Washington police chief in the late 1980s. They purchased an RV and shortly after visited Lake Havasu, quickly becoming snowbirds. After Dick's passing in 1996, she decided to make Lake Havasu City her permanent home. She joined the Dixie Belles where she was able to share her love of music, singing, and dancing. She was a member for several years, and this was one of the highlights of her life.
Dee Dee was known for her outgoing personality, generous heart, quick wit, passion for Karaoke, and telling a joke or two. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she got great joy from family visits. She will be dearly missed by her family, close friends in Lake Havasu, and all the others that knew and loved her over the years.
Dee Dee's family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others in life not the sadness of her passing. She is survived by sons David, Richard, & Donald, brother Michael, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1975 Daytona Ave, Lake Havasu City, AZ at 9:40 am on Dec. 7. Flowers or donations to your favorite charity in Dee Dee's name are welcome but not necessary.
