Kelly Wells Obituary

BEECHER CITY -- Kelly Leroy Wells, 33, of Beecher City, formerly of St. Elmo, died Saturday (Feb. 28, 2004) in his home.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in First Christian Church, St. Elmo, with the Rev. Ian Stamps officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Kull Funeral Home, St. Elmo, and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery, Beecher City. Memorials: donor's choice.

Kelly was born May 4, 1970, in Rockford, the son of Robert Lee and Linda Lou Case Wells. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 751 in Decatur. He had been employed by Caterpillar Inc. in Decatur as a welder for the past several years. He graduated from Tulsa School of Welding in 1999.

Surviving are his father of Chenoa; mother of Lexington; grandmothers, Helen Case-Blue of Byron; Genevieve Wells of Wingo, Ky.; great-grandmother, Mary Harmon of Stillman Valley; daughter, Emma Alexandra Wells of Springfield; brothers, Kerry Wells and wife Janetia of St. Elmo; Kasey John Wells of Lexington; sisters, Kristina "Kris" Ledbetter and husband John of Altamont; Katrina Sharrow and husband Eric of Lexington; four nephews; five nieces; one great-niece; special friend, Paige Lorton of Beecher City.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Slagle Case and Leroy and Dorothy Wells-Fry; and sister, Katherine Ada Wells in 1999 at the age of 18.
