Clive Franklin Evenden On July 7th 2012, the world lost a kindred spirit. Shortly after arriving in Miami from Worthing England where he had been working as a DJ at Hatchets Club, Clive began his career in the U.S. as a Miami nightclub impresario, predominantly in the burgeoning Coconut Grove Night Club scene of the 80's & 90's. Many locals from the era may remember partying into the wee hours of the morning listening to Clive spinning classic Disco, Rock, and R&B at venerable Nightclubs, such as The Mutiny, Honey For The Bears, Zachary's & Ensign Bitters, where he also served as Public Relations Director. Clive's incomparable knowledge of music, his warmth, wit and ability to regale the listener with fantastic tales of 80's nightlife and celebrity gossip would instantly transport you back to the era. Clive was a raconteur in the truest sense of the word. His understanding and appreciation of Rock, R&B, Blues and Jazz history, the ability to connect multiple degrees of separation and natural gift of gab served him well for the past 20 years in his capacity as Public Relations Manager and Marketing Director for one of the most recognized sound engineering and home theater companies in South Florida, that by no coincidence was responsible for the sound systems in many of those same clubs. Clive was pre deceased by his mother Isabel, and is survived by a cousin, Diane Thorn in West Sussex, England. Friends are welcome to attend a celebration of Clive's life on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 7:00 P.M. in the showroom of Sound Performance, 4030 Aurora St. in Coral Gables.
