Nancy Green Obituary

Miami, Florida - Our precious mother Nancy Green passed away on July 10, 2021 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She dedicated her life to her husband Herschel (Hank) Green and to her children.
She was born in Newton Massachusetts, the daughter of Florence and Harry Flayderman. Nancy attended the Boston Conservatory of Music where she studied opera. She moved to Miami and married in 1952. She sang in the chorus of what was then The Miami Opera.
Nancy and her husband founded The Green Companies, a Miami based commercial real estate company that exists today. She and her husband loved Miami and supported many causes, including the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, Jackson Hospital, Baptist Hospital, among others. Nancy was a founding board member of the Institute of Contemporary Arts.
She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Green, Robert Green, Carolynn Friedman, Susann Mittelman, and Florence Green. She is survived by her grandchildren Brian and James Bernstein, Jennifer, Spencer, and Alexandra Friedman, Gabriella Green, Tyler Mittelman, Scott and Jake Rivlin, and her great grandchildren.
She had a long and wonderful life, and she will be deeply missed. May she rest In Peace.

Toups and I were very saddened to hear about Aunt Nancy, and we send heartfelt blessings for a lifetime of fond memories of her. She was our sweetest Aunt, and many of the Richter's best childhood memories were of her singing out randomly at our Friday night dinners with the Greens. She was absolutely lovely and I remember her voice. I have lived most of my life in New Orleans and lost touch with her and others until just before Uncle Hank died, when we spent a few dinners with her and Hank on visits to see Danny. As difficult as those circumstances were, those visits with her were also times of pure joy. Toups and I send our love and condolences to our cousins and their families. You were all blessed to have had her share your lives for so many years. Rick (and Toups).

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the family. Nancy was such a special friend to me. I am heartbroken and will miss her dearly. Nancy was a positive influance in my life the past 30 years. She was always there to give support and advice. I want the family to know how much Nancy and Hank meant to me. They have shaped my life in the most important ways. I am a better father, husband, and a better man from knowing them both. The generosity and kindness I have been so privileged to be a part of will be a part of me for the rest of my life.
