Ann Cook Hampton

1947 - 2018

Ann Cook Hampton was born in June 1947 in Eureka, Calif., and passed on March 15, 2018, in Portland, Ore., surrounded by her sisters.
Many close, lifelong friendships started in Ann's high school years at Ferndale and Orland, Calif. Ann attended business school before embarking on her career. Her first position was keeping books for her father's auction yard south of Klamath Falls. She later moved to Cottonwood, Calif., working as a dispatcher for livestock freight. In 1975, Ann returned to Klamath Falls and settled into the banking community at her mother's suggestion. Ann worked at Western Bank, Washington Mutual, Premier West and South Valley Bank, a career that lasted 35 years until her retirement in 2010. In 1983, Ann met Tom Hampton. They were later married and spent 25 years together. This was a time focused upon family and friends, a value that Ann held most closely to her heart.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Tom, and her parents, Faye and Joe Cook. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Swan, and grandsons, Deven and Dylen Brewer; her siblings, Jane Slinger, Mary Jo, Carole, and Joe Cook, and the family of Tom Hampton, Sheri Johnson, Jim, Ken, Kim Tyree; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ann's bright smile and positive attitude made it easy for her to create friendships. Loved by many, Ann's laughter will be missed along with her cookies. Please continue to share Ann's spirit by contributing to your local food bank or treat your family to a nice meal.
A celebration of life is planned for July 1, 2018, at Running Y in Klamath Falls from 2 to 6 p.m.
