Donald Eugene Minor Sr.

1931 - 2016

MINOR, Donald Eugene Sr. age 85 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at his residence. He was born on November 22, 1931, in Merced, Calif. to the late Euless Mose Minor and Leotta Foster Minor. A member of Little Hurricane Baptist Church, he worked 10 years at Duck River Electric as a lineman and owned and operated M & M Wholesale Florist, Inc. for 27 years. He loved riding the Kubota mule, helping his neighbors, his family, racing, working with his skid steer, taking his grandkids to the bear hole, and his flower business. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife, Huetta Minor; daughter, Denise Coker; grandson, Steven Coker; daughter-in-law, Jean Minor; sisters, Edith Farrel and Frances Minor; brothers, Roy and Bud Minor. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bolin Minor; sons, Don (Brenda) Minor of Winchester, Dale Minor of Rutledge Hill and Darren (Sherry) Minor of Winchester; sister, Loretta Carter of Manchester; brother, Eldon Minor of Merced, Calif.; stepsons, Dennis (Tina) Bolin of Estill Springs, Melvin Bolin of Winchester, Mark (Julie) Bolin of Estill Springs, Dwayne (Amanda) Bolin of Winchester and Brian Bolin of Winchester; stepdaughter, Cyndi (Glen) McKinney of Winchester; 11 grand-children; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 step grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, Dec. 19, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at 10 a.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Willie Lee Bonner Jr. and Bishop Tim Geer officiating.
