Charles (Chuck) Lindholm
Chuck was born January 23, 1931, in Toronto, Canada to Helmi Moro and Gunnar Lindholm, who were of Finnish /Swedish descent. He passed away peacefully October 9, 2004 in the presence of family. He will be remembered as a loving husband, caring father and proud grandfather.
Chuck was a lifelong member of the IBEW and started his apprenticeship in Canada. He migrated to Detroit and then to California. He found electrical work in the movie studios and then at Disneyland in electrical maintenance. In 1961, the Alweg Rapid Transit Systems offered him the opportunity to go to Germany to coordinate American equipment used in the monorail for Seattle's World Fair. During the Fair, he supervised the monorail's operation and maintenance. After the Fair, he joined the post-fair Century 21, Inc. as Operations Manager.
After the City of Seattle took over operation of the Seattle took over operation of the Seattle Center, he worked in electrical construction on many large projects in the Seattle area, including the Westin Hotel, Metro Tunnel, and West Point Water Treatment Facility. He also worked on the construction and installation of modular facilities for the Prudhoe Bay, Alaska oil industry and various other projects in Alaska, California, Montana, and Idaho. He believed in giving "eight for eight" in any project he was involved in and was well respected in his trade.
In March of 1996, he received the ultimate gift - a heart transplant that enabled him to celebrate life with his family and friends for eight more years. The family will be forever grateful for this time and encourages others to register as organ donors or to give blood to commemorate Chuck's life.
His parents and his son, Robert, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Everett; sons, Barry (Dina) of Jefferson, OR, David (Delta) of Taos, NM; daughters Linda (David) Solomon of Forest Hill, NY, Lisa (Robert) James of Kirkland; grandsons Barry, Nathan, Don, Kyle, Finn and granddaughter Paisley.
Chuck was also a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America and the Gold Wing Touring Association.
Chuck was proud of his Finnish heritage and lived by the motto of the Finnish culture; "SISU," which is defined as determination, spirit, resolve, courage, persistence, guts, tenacity, mettle, stubbornness steadfastness and perseverance.

A celebration of Chuck's life will take place at Bear Creek Golf and Country Club, 13737 202nd Ave NE, Woodinville, WA 98077, Friday, October 29, 2004 at 1:00pm.
