John Stavros Obituary

John Peter Stavros, Jr.

April 25, 1950-Mar. 17, 2004

John Peter Savros, Jr., born in Seattle as the second child and first son of John and Alice Stavros, passed away at home in Lynnwood after a long illness. He was named after his grandfathers, John Adam Findlay, a native Scotland and Peter Stavros, a Greek immigrant, which conveniently, if not intentionally, made him John, Jr.
He attended Ronald Elementary, Butler Junior High and Shoreline High School, and was active in community baseball and band, playing the trumpet. Although John became a husband and father at a very early age, he accepted the responsibility readily and willingly, becoming one of America's everyday heroes - the man who devotes himself to supporting and caring for his family. John was a 34-year member of Local 300, International Union of Painters & Allied Trades.
John is survived by his father; sister Carylee; brother George Stavros; daughter Laura Panek; and son John Pete Stavros, III. His seven grandchildren are Aaron, Austin, Alexander and Andrew Panek, and Marissa, Sydney and Dylon Stavros.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and by his second wife, Barbara.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Panek residence April 10th, at 1:00pm to share remembrances. The address is 17603 60th Ave W., Lynnwood, WA.
