James Hollis Obituary
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:30 PM Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel 2133 Ebenezer Rd. Rock Hill. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, July 30, 2018 at Park Baptist Church with Pastor David Kiehn officiating. The burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park on Cherry Road.
Born in York, SC, Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by his parents, James Rafe Hollis and Sarah Parker Hollis; brother, Larry Hollis and sister, Dot Adams. He was a member of Park Baptist Church for over 30 years, where he served as deacon, and Sunday School Director. He retired from Nalley Equipment Installation.
Survivors include his wife of almost 55 years, Louise Presson Hollis; sons, Jamie Hollis and Jeff Hollis (Pam) all of Rock Hill; sister, Sarah Hinson of Rock Hill; brother, Tommy Hollis (Mary) of Tybee Island, GA; grandchildren, Ashlyn McKoy (Jordan), Presson Hollis, Jackson Hollis, and Heather Ellison; great grandson, Hampton McKoy. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Nurse Joy Melton for her gentle care of Mr. Hollis.
The family requests that memorials may be made to Park Baptist Church 717 East Main St. Rock Hill, SC 29730 or to Hospice and Palliative Care (Palmetto Region) 1057 Red Ventures Dr. Fort Mill, SC 29707.
