CHESTER, S.C. - Mrs. Louise Rhodes Crouse, 84, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2011.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Glen Hope Baptist Church in Burlington, N.C., with Dr. Stephen G. Crouse, Pastor Larry Redding and the Rev. Norman Fargis officiating. Interment will be in Alamance Memorial Park Cemetery in Burlington, N.C. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, at Glen Hope Baptist Church.
Born November 7, 1926, in Alamance County, N.C., Mrs. Crouse was the daughter of the late Lonnie Henry Rhodes and Myrtle Robinson Rhodes. She attended the schools of Alamance County, North Carolina and retired from General Electric and Rose's department store. She was a faithful member of Glen Hope Baptist Church where she was a former choir member and involved in Sunday School Leadership. Mrs. Crouse was an avid Southern cook. She was twice widowed, first to Jack Clemmons and then, to Clair H. Crouse Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Violet King on October 7, 2010, with whom she shared a residence.
She is survived by four sons, George H. Crouse and his wife, Edna Mae of Durham, N.C., Marvin H. Crouse and his wife, Vickie of Cary, N.C., C. Hurley Crouse Jr. of Chester, S.C. and Dr. Stephen G. Crouse and his wife, Martha of Travelers Rest, S.C.; one daughter, Patricia C. Hutcherson and her husband, Glenn of Graham, N.C.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Louise was a special, special lady to our family, especially to our youngest son, Brent. Brent and Mrs. Louise had a bond that we will cherish forever.
