Nov. 30, 1928 - May 14, 2013
Calvin E. Kendall, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. Born November 3, 1928 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Edgar and Grace Kendall. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Edith, daughter, Lynn (Mike) Myers; son, Gary Kendall; grandchildren, Michael Dilworth; Chrisy (A.J.) Hershman; Emilee Thornton; great grandchildren, Kiley and Jack Hershman. Cal graduated from Upsala College in New Jersey in 1949 and served in the U.S. Army as a 1st Lieutenant. Cal loved to read, was an avid golfer and backgammon player. He especially enjoyed his twice weekly poker games with his buddies at Camelot Lakes. He will be sorely missed. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew United Church of Christ (Beneva Road) on Sunday, May 19, 2013 at 3:00 pm. Interment at Sarasota National Cemetery with military honors will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238. Arrangements by Veterans Funeral Service and Cremation.
