Ed Hutchison
North Logan - Edmon Carver Hutchison, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014 at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was 81 years old.
Ed was born December 8, 1932 to Edmon Dewey and Verna Carver Hutchison in Richmond, Utah, the youngest of four children. Ed attended Cache county and Logan district schools, graduating from Logan High School in 1951, where he loved and excelled in various athletics. He attended Utah State University, and later joined the family business. Along with his father and his brother, and later his sons, Ed owned and operated Gilt Edge Flour Mills Inc. He was a member of The Association of Operative Millers.
Ed married Audrey Jane Griffin Dec. 28, 1953. Together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage, traveling, golfing, skiing and spending time with their three children, Kim, Sally and Ned. Ed's greatest pleasure and entertainment in life were his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, residing in the North Logan 12th Ward. Ed loved to ski and golf, teaching each of his children to love these sports as well. Ed was a member of the Logan Golf and Country Club for a number of years. He also enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips with his good friends and was a member of the Round Valley Hunting Club.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Ruth Ryan, brother, Robert Hutchison, and son, W. Kim Hutchison. He is survived by his wife, Audrey, daughter-in-law Lynette Hutchison, daughter, Sally (Brooks) Tarbet, and son, Ned (Sherri) Hutchison, nine grandchildren, Tami (Brent) Suisse, Julie (Blake) Ballard, Kara (Phil) Foster, Eddie (Michelle) Hutchison, Kade (Jessica) Tarbet, Andy (Mallory) Hutchison, Kelsey (Brady) Bobka, Shanna Hutchison, and Blake Hutchison, 20 great-grandchildren, and sister Colleen Croxford.
There will be a viewing, Tuesday Feb. 11, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 E. 400 North, Logan. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12 at noon at the Logan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the LDS Church missionary fund or the Humane Society.
The Family would like to thank Dr Steven Salisbury and his office staff and those at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the wonderful care they gave to Ed during his stay there.

Dear Audrey, Sally, Ned and all of the Hutchison family. We are thinking of you and praying for the peace and comfort of our Savior to be with each of you at this difficult time. We will miss being able to give our condolences in person but will see you again soon. Ed is a wonderful husband and father may he rest in peace and find joy in his next estate.

Dear Audrey and family, we are sad for Ed's passing. Chris always felt close to Ed and his boys. He is especiall grateful to them for the opportunity of working for Gilt Edge and running his C&K trucking buiseness.
