Ronald Dodson Obituary
Virginia Beach - Ronald" Shane" Dodson,45, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at Sentera Leigh Hospital December 9,2013. Shane spent his earlier youth years in Swepsonville , NC, but lived most of his life in the Chics Beach area in Virginia Beach. He was a graduate of Green Run High School. Shane and his wife Wendy had their own Home Improvements business, known as Absolute Home Maintenance. He was known in his profession as the most helpful, giving and caring person in times of need. Left to cherish Shane's memory: His wife and best friend Wendy L. Dodson, their children Nicholas, Lucas and Maya. He is also survived by his parents Ronnie and Gwen Dodson,Sisters Amanda Cales,Wendy Simmons and Brother Ronnie Dodson Jr. ; along with his loving grandparents Ed and Elise Dodson , Aunt Peggy Dodson, and his many cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday 11 a.m. with a reception to follow at Altmeyer Funeral Home 5792 Greenwich Road Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Condolences can be made at www.altmeyer.com.

I am truly heartbroken by the loss of such a special person. While its been so long since I saw you, I will never forget our friendship. You were truly my first "best friend" and I can still clearly remember all the times we spent the night at each others "crib", doing our paper routes together, going hunting, riding 4 wheelers, building a half pipe at your house, going bodyboarding, watching the ACC tournament and how much I adored your parents. I will always remember you my friend and only wish I had had the chance to see you one more time. You and your family are in my prayers and I know one day we will see each other again.

Shane, I went to Green Run High School with you and we lived on the same street growing up. You were a nice and fun kid to be around . Saddened by Shane's passing. My thoughts and prayers for the Dodson family.
