Kimberly Getzinger Obituary
Kimberly Shirley Getzinger, 59, passed away on Saturday December 19, 2020. She a native of Tuscaloosa, AL and resident of Houma, LA.
Family and friends of the family are invited to a memorial of life on Wednesday December 30, 2020 from 2:00-4:00pm at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma, LA; There will be a celebration of life on Saturday January 9, 2021 at Mt. Olivet "Beaver Dam" Church from 11:00am til.
She was preceded in death by her father, Howard O'Neal Shirley.
Survivors include her mother Mary Lou Shirley of Gordo; her son Justin Getzinger of Houston, TX; her daughter Lindsey Getzinger of Houma; her brothers Tim Shirley (Denise) of Gordo and Kerry Shirley of Gordo; her grandchildren Ayden Stelly and Khloe Stelly; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Ms. Getzinger was born March 18, 1961 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a graduate of John Jay Beauty School and served countless clients as a cosmetologist. She was an avid arts & crafts hobbyist, and spent most of her recent time enjoying her grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mt. Olivet "Beaver Dam" Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o First National Bank of Central Alabama, P.O. Drawer 10, Gordo, AL 35466

Kim is now at peace in the arms of God but we who are left behind will always miss her big heart, her endless supply of energy and her fun loving attitude. Justin and Lindsey, my heart is broken for you and for your children Lindsey. She loved you all so very much. I am having a very hard time even believing this is true as it’s hard to understand how such a bright light can just be turned off. She was one of my dearest friends and he absence will leave a hole that cannot be filled. I send my love to you and pray her life transcends death. Love never dies.
