Billie Williams Obituary

BILLIE JENE WILLIAMS, passed from this life Sunday the 28th of October after a brief illness. Jene was born on the 24th of July, 1928 in Lubbock, Texas to Doug and Mary Johnson. She is survived by her sons Douglas Kendall Williams and his wife Kate along with their daughters Emily and Grace and David Wendall Williams and his wife Sue along with their children John, Scott and Amy and her husband Joey along with their children Baylee and Emma, her loving sister Bonnye Sulak and husband Ernest along with nieces Sandra Williams, Cindy Schovajsa, Kathy Sanford, and nephew Joel Thornton. Jene was preceded in death by husband Henry Kendall Williams, who was her rock for more than 48 years. Jene taught school for more than thirty years completing her career in the mid 1980's at Spring Woods High School. During her tenure as a teacher she taught many subjects, but English was her passion. She was a Charter Member of Memorial Drive Christian Church serving the congregation in many capacities throughout her almost 40 year affiliation. The family will receive visitors at Woodlawn Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 1st from 5:30 to 8:30 in the evening. Services will be held at Memorial Drive Christian Church, Friday November 2 at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jene's name to Memorial Drive Christian Church or M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
