Bob "Buddha" Covey age 90, Magnolia Texas, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Joplin MO. A memorial service will be Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the Tomball Community Center 221 Market Street, Tomball Texas.
Bob was born September 15, 1931 in Springfield, Missouri, son of the late Hugh Covey and Beatrice Vangunda Covey. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United State Air Force with the 301st Field Maintenance Squadron. He moved to Tomball in 1980 to further his glazing career working in downtown Houston.
Bob was married to the love of his life for 63 years, Margaret Westfall Covey, who preceded him in death May 9, 2017. They had 6 children who all survive him. Bob made a life of coaching and mentoring youth in both sports and church activities. His coaching career spanned more than 30 years. He helped coach the 1995 and 1996 Tomball Senior League teams, who won the Texas Championship. Bob was an avid recreational and competition fisherman in both Missouri and Texas.
In addition to his wife and parents, Bob was preceded in death by his three sisters and two brothers.
