Ethelynn Harrison Obituary

Harrison
Ethelynn (Lynn) Paula Claypool Harrison, passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 3, 2011, in Houston, Texas at 80 years of age. Lynn was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 25, 1930 to Mabel Crane Claypool and Ethelbert Maltby Claypool. She and her sisters, Dorothy Claypool and Lou Ann (Bo) Mosley, later lived together in Stillwater, Oklahoma where she attended Oklahoma A&M before meeting and marrying Charles (Chuck) Frederick Harrison in 1949. They lived in Oklahoma and Illinois and finally many years in Houston, Texas, where they raised their children, assorted pets, as well as a wonderful spreading live oak that provided welcome shade for their patio. Lynn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and also worked in various administrative positions with Spring Branch Independent School District. A woman with a classic sense of style, she made friends wherever she went, had a sophisticated wit and a definite perspective on most things that she shared generously at all times.
Lynn was pre-deceased by her sister Dorothy Claypool; her brother-in-laws, Horace Mosley and Benjamin Harrison. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; her daughter, Marcia Harrison Taylor, her husband David and their son Matthew of Dallas, Texas; and son, Thomas Harrison, and his wife Janet of Houston, Texas and their children, Scott, June and Natalie; her sister, Lou Ann Claypool Mosley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; in-laws, Robert and Beverly Harrison of Georgetown, Texas and Nancy and Frans Koning of Seattle, Washington; numerous nieces and nephews and close friends, Morton and Jean Fefer, also survive Lynn.
The family would like to express deep gratitude for the abundant kindness and attention shown to Lynn by the staff of Parkway Place in Houston, Buckner Hospice and, Home Health Resources - especially Yvonne Clarke and Barbara Hill for the loving care and encouragement shown in her final days.
A private family gathering for remembrance will be held at a later date. Friends and family of Lynn Harrison are invited to visit the following internet link: http://lynn.harrison.muchloved.com
