Grace Blair Obituary

GRACE BILLYE McCLENDON BLAIR passed away on April 20, 2004. She was born on September 23, 1924 in Denton, Texas to Mary Princella Thompson and William Roger McClendon. She was married to Robert H. Blair. She moved to Houston as a young woman, raised her family and spent the rest of her life here. She was a long time member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, working there as financial secretary for almost 30 years. She was deeply loved by her daughters and extended family and friends and will be missed and remembered by all who knew her. Grace is survived by her 3 daughters, Georgianna Fisher of Annapolis, Maryland; Cecilia Fisher of Menlo Park, California; and Cynthia McGuire of Hempstead, Texas. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren that she dearly loved. They are Darin and Todd Fisher, sons of Georgianna Fisher; Charles, Andrew, Jennifer and Matthew Fisher, sons and daughter of Cecilia Fisher; Kevin Green, son of Cynthia McGuire; and Austin and Cody Green, sons of Kevin Green. She is also survived by her brother, Retired Adm. William Roger McClendon Jr. of Carmel, California; her cousin, Dorothy Faye Eason of Houston, Texas; and Robert H. Blair of Point Blank, Texas. Last but not least, she is survived by her 2 beloved dogs, Max and Isabo. She delighted in answering her phone "Gracie's Doggie Daycare"!!!! Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004 at 11 o'clock in the morning at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood, with The Rev. Wayland M. Coe officiating. For those so desiring, memorials may be made to St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 4900 Jackwood, Houston, Texas 77096.

Georgiana, Cedy and Cindy, I was so sorry to hear about your Mom. I remember all those great times growing up on Jessamine. Used to love the watermelon parties your Mom would have in the back yard. My prayers are with you and your families
