Jerry Atwood Obituary
Mr. Atwood retired from Amoco International after a 36 year career of Texas assignments. He was active in the Jaycees, Toastmasters, Cub and Boy Scouts, Little League and served on the Levelland, Texas school board. Jerry founded the Amoco Houston Alumni Club. He enjoyed traveling via RV and visited all lower 48 states. He was a longtime volunteer with the MANNA charity. He was a Presbyterian Elder and a member of the Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James Atwood, first wife Norma Lee Ilse Atwood, and second wife, Leta Schmuck Atwood, He is survived by son, David Atwood (JoAnne) of Fairhope, AL, daughter, Beth Black (Rick) of El Paso, step daughters, Roberta Harrison (Troy) of Houston, Leslie Roop (Mike) of Richmond,TX Becke Leo (Bob) of Denver. Also, sister, Ann Flinn of Lakeway, TX, sister-in-law Marilyn Atwood of Corsicana, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas on Friday, April 25, at 1:00 PM.
