Lindley Ayres Obituary

Lindley Pond Ayers
1961-2022
Lindley Pond Ayers never met a stranger. Whether it was through her church, her work or her community, relationships were Lindley's passion. She loved people absolutely and they loved her back. To all who knew her, and with great sadness, we announce Lindley's passing on the 18th of January, 2022.
Lindley was born in Houston, Texas to Jane and Robert (Bob) Pond on October 26th, 1961. She came into life as bright and fierce as she left, touching, befriending and caring for people along the way. She attended University of Texas Dental Hygiene School and practiced 19 years as a successful hygienist in both Houston and Austin. Always interested in gardening and landscaping, Lindley began doing side jobs and favors for friends and acquaintances, until critical mass forced her to leave her dental instruments behind and start Lindley Pond Landscaping. Like Dental Hygiene, Lindley's love for people and talent for landscaping proved a successful combination as Lindley Pond Landscaping grew into a successful commercial and residential design and installation firm.
During Lindley's career transition, her love of nature and animals led her to Johnson City where she planted her roots, set up shop and built her dream with horses, dogs, cats and chickens. Her landscaping business not only led her to lifelong relationships with customers, but also to Decker Ayers, the love of her life. Lindley and Decker were active in the Henly Baptist Church. As Lindley continued to mature in her faith-walk, she reached out to Don Forrester, her pastor and requested baptism as an expression of her Christian faith. Lindley started her day working the New York Times crossword puzzles in ink and feeding her horses treats from the steps of her house. She lived an active life managing her business, taking care of her animals, cooking and being a cheerleader, friend and confidant to the many family and friends in her life. She was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her positivity radiated everyday and to everyone lucky enough to cross her path.
Lindley is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Decker Ayers, her mother Jane Pond and her grandparents. She is survived by her father, Bob Pond (Fran), brothers, Dr. Jay Pond of Fort Worth and Matt Pond (Megan) of Houston, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and countless great friends.
A local remembrance will be held at the Henly Baptist Church, 200 Henly Loop, Dripping Springs, Texas, at 2:00pm March 5th, 2022. A celebration of Lindley's life will be held later in the Spring – the date to be announced.
