On Thursday, November 11, 2021, Ronald Dean Loewenstein of Houston, Texas, a devoted husband and father, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend passed away at the age of 68.
Ron was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on July 1, 1953 to Beverly (Johnson) and Robert Loewenstein. He was their fourth child.
Ron graduated from Grand Island Senior High, earning many honors, including setting shot put and discus records. He earned a football scholarship to the University of Nebraska. He transferred to San Diego State University, where he earned his B.A. in Psychology. He remained in California where he began a career and started a family. He and his family moved to Houston where he founded his company, Loewenstein & Associates.
Ron loved all sports. He enjoyed participating in and making friends through football, golf, tennis, volleyball, water and snow skiing, motorcycling, bicycling, hunting, boating, and fishing. Ron was very cerebral and enjoyed penning beautiful poems. Ron loved to go on long drives in his truck or motorcycle and enjoy nature.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Andrea, his daughters Jennifer Rayburn and her husband Brian, Elena Velasquez and her husband Travis, son Jager, and stepchildren Andy (Hickman) and Harvey (Hickman). Ron leaves six grandchildren Jacob, Reese, Jude, Luke, Cole, and Dean. He leaves three siblings, Cynthia "sister Cindy" and Lyn Taylor, Robert "brother Bob" and Cindy Loewenstein, and brother Richard and Debra Loewenstein. He also leaves nieces Michelle Kilian, Lisa Loewenstein, and Sara Sutherland; nephew Jason Taylor; stepmother Marjorie Loewenstein; and stepfather Robert Lutes. Ron will also be remembered by several cousins and countless friends.
Ron was predeceased by his parents, Beverly Lutes and Robert Loewenstein, and his stepmother Donna Loewenstein.
Services for Ron will be held at Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, Texas 77494 on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 at 1:00.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Ron's memory to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Ron was in remission, a cancer survivor, and would support funding advancements in treatment and eliminating cancer.
Rest in peace beloved Ron. You remain in our hearts forever.
