Veronica Carney Obituary
1952-2016
Veronica Theresa Carney, born on December 24, 1952 on Staten Island, NY, died on June 12, 2016 in Houston, TX. She is survived by her sister Ann Gaber, her nephew James Gaber and his wife Lisa Peña-Gaber, her nephew Christopher Gaber, her niece Hilary Gaber and her grand-nephews Stephen, Daniel and Michael Gaber.
Veronica majored in Comparative Religions at Hunter College of the City University of New York, and studied Inter-religious Dialogue at Fordham University. She worked with Non-Governmental Organizations at the United Nations, notably the Temple of Understanding, where she helped organize the interfaith service for the United Nations 50th Anniversary celebration.
She will be remembered for her artistic talent, her sense of humor and her Catholic faith.
The Memorial Service will be at 10:00am, July 13, 2016, at the Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway, Houston, TX 77002.

Veronica was a much loved angel to me and my friends. Her unselfish and generous nature helped us all through really tough times. She was a true friend who gave huge amounts of time, patience and loving care when I and my friends were ill. Her love and concern for all of us will be remembered. I called her my guardian angel many times. I still think she is, just from a much higher point of view. We love you "V" and miss you so very much.

Veronica, I have so many wonderful and crazy memories working with you at the Co-Cathedral. Thank you for helping me through the years and your friendship. I'll always remember you. Rest in peace, dear friend.
