William Brady Obituary
William Erle "Bill" Brady
1945-2022
After a lengthy and courageous battle with a form of leukemia, Bill Brady passed away peacefully at Harbor Hospice in Houston on March 9, 2022.
Bill was born on August 18, 1945 to James William Brady and Erlene Henshaw Brady in Houston. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, his friend and father-in-law John St. Leger, Sr., and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Kurtz. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Jeanie Brady; step-son Paul Kurtz; granddaughters Vivian and Charlotte Kurtz; mother-in-law Betty St. Leger; brothers-in-law John St. Leger, Jr. (Lyn) and Dan St. Leger (Wanda); nephew Morgan Wolter (Trina); nieces Danielle Lee (Kris) and Brandy Gabriel (Rory); and dear friends Larry/Debby Aubin and Dwight/Gloria Burr. To think of Bill is to remember his great love for his granddaughters, Vivian and Charlotte, and their great love for their Pawpaw. They were the light of his life.
Bill graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor's degree in business. His early career in the corporate world of a large fishing company took him to several other countries. Friends often heard him begin a sentence with, "When I lived in Holland (or the Canary Islands, India, or Panama) …" He loved telling stories. Bill had a "gift" for sarcasm and everyone loved his quick wit.
Later in life, Bill's career took a new direction. He built a successful therapy company putting physical and occupational staff into retirement homes and senior living communities, hoping to add quality to the lives of senior adults.
As a long-time member of Sunset United Methodist Church in Pasadena, Bill was a member of the Sunrise Sunday School class, served on various boards and committees, and enjoyed helping with Vacation Bible School.
