William J. Luedtke, age 82, formerly of 911 North Rapids Road, Manitowoc, entered eternal life Tuesday evening, January 22, 2013 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center where he had been residing for the past three years.

Bill was born on March 30, 1930 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Erwin and Mary Konop Luedtke. Bill was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1948. Following high school he entered the United States Army serving with the 82nd Air Bourne Division. After his honorable discharge Bill returned to Manitowoc where he became employed with Medusa Cement for 27 years, then later worked for Manitowoc Equipment Works for the next 11 years at which time he then retired. On July 5, 1951 he married Patricia Olson at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on February 20, 2011. Bill was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.

He is survived by seven sons and six daughters-in-law: Mike and Donna Luedtke, Manitowoc; Bill and Mary Ellen Luedtke, Manitowoc; David and Kathy Luedtke, Appleton; Jon Luedtke and his fiancé Sue Valentine, Manitowoc; Al and Tina Luedtke, Manitowoc; Charles " Chip" and Brigitte Luedtke, Manitowoc; Patrick "PJ" and Tammy Luedtke, Manitowoc; two daughters: Mary Lynn and Mark Kinzel, Manitowoc; Ann and Morgan Wegner, White Lake, WI; twenty four grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, son-in-law: Harold "Rob" Barbeau, Manitowoc; sister-in-law: Doris Luedtke, Manitowoc; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Erwin and Mary Luedtke; wife: Patricia; daughter: Kristeen Bargeau; two brothers: Robert and Thomas Luedtke; two sisters: Dorothy Massman and Mary Luedtke.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Dave Pleier. Entombment will take place at Calvary Mausoleum in Manitowoc. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service held at 6:00 p.m. which will conclude the visitation. The visitation will continue on Monday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Waldo from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00. Following the services at church there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
