Betty Adamczyk Obituary

Betty Rae Bradshaw Adamczyk, died Jan. 3, 2007 at St Al's Hospital in Boise, Idaho. Born Feb. 13, 1920 in Lawton, Kan., Betty was the eldest child of Elizabeth and Ray Bradshaw. In addition to her parents, her husband, Harry in 1969 and brothers, Bob and John, preceded Betty in death. Blessed with irreplaceable and colorful memories are her daughters Nancy Sparks and her husband Jack of Boise, Idaho, and Sally Adams Rood and her husband Jerry of Erie, Pa. Also, five grandchildren who dearly loved their 'Gooser' and six great-grandchildren. Betty's giving spirit will also bring comfort to her siblings Eleva, Barbara, Van and Reba. Betty loved her family with her whole heart and had a gift of overlooking faults and weaknesses in others. Betty was a strong woman and a woman of great faith. Betty and Harry married in 1942 after a whirlwind courtship in Topeka, Kan. and the couple often talked about listening to the Kentucky Derby on the radio the day of their marriage. Without a doubt, Harry was so happy to see his 'Betts' when she crossed over and, in his usual fashion, complimented Betty on her appearance. She was a beautiful woman in and out. A memorial service will be held Jan. 20 at The Heatherwood Retirement Center, 5277 Kootenai, Boise, Idaho at 1 p.m. where she resided for 17 years. Family and friends will meet in the Friendship room, which she herself named. Betty's final resting place will be at Wirtonia Cemetery, Shawnee Township, Cherokee County, Kan. Date and time pending. She will rest next to her parents who had set a cornerstone of faith and strong values for their children and grandchildren. Memorials can be made in Betty's memory to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101.

Aunt Betty, You're such a kind and gentle soul. I used to love going to your house after a rough day at St. Patrick's Elementary. You will always be missed, but never forgotten.

Aunt Betty:
You were the sweetest and dearest person to grace this earth. You will be missed by all of those who had the privilege of having you in their lives. I will always remember you singing, "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries" no matter what obstacles were thrown your way. You are a true inspiration of how one should lead their life.
