Gwendolyn "Gwen" M. (Pugh) Johnson
Gwendolyn "Gwen" M. (Pugh) Johnson of Nampa went to be with the Lord Saturday, April 20, 2013, passing away peacefully at home surrounded by her fiancée and family. Gwen was born May 10, 1954 in Nampa to Mary and Dwain Gugin. She attended schools in Mountain Home and graduated from Reynolds High School in Portland, OR. She attended college briefly before joining the work force. She worked for Idaho Power for 32 years retiring in 2009 due to health issues.
Gwen loved the Lord and life. She was a talented singer and loved all kinds of music. She loved to camp, fish and hunt and gamble. Lately her happiest times were spent fishing and riding the Harley with Miles. When health prevented her from being able to do her favorite things she became very proficient on the Wii, hunting, bowling and golfing.
She is survived by her fiancée Miles Johnson; two sets of parents: Russell and Mary Buker of Portland, OR and Dwain and Judy Gugin of Meridian, ID; brothers Don (Lela) Gugin of White Salmon, WA and Gary Buker of Portland, OR; sisters Jennifer Schmeckpeper of Kuna, Chris (Randy) Stilson of Tigard, OR, Connie Amey of Forrest Grove, OR; "adopted" daughters Erin Goodell of Emmett and Nina Condie of Boise as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and many close friends. Gwen was a loving and giving friend and would often tell you to always smile and be happy.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Luke's Hospice, Dr. Graham Wetherly and Dr. Sharon Oster.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Silver Crest Estates clubhouse, 1907 W. Flamingo Ave in Nampa. Arrangements are being provided by Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity in Gwen's name.
