James Avery Obituary

James Glen Avery
1947-2012
Born May 11, 1947 in Caldwell, Idaho at Memorial Park Hospital. Marjorie and Carroll Avery gave birth to twins James Glen Avery and a twin brother named George Lyman Avery. Soon followed two years later by another set of twin boys named John Steven Avery and William Douglas Avery. The family grew up in Idaho with their father working in the Saw Mills. Being one of four brothers there were many fun stories. One fun story of when they were visiting a neighbor, the boys went down in the basement, found a large amount of potatoes. Parents are upstairs playing pinochle, the boys being bored, split up the potatoes, turned the lights off, hid behind the tables and the spud war games began. Finale being broken windows, exploded potato bombs, livid parents and many consequences, but a forever childhood memory of lots of fun. Jim grew up and was drafted right out of Burley HS into the Army during the Vietnam War. He served his country for two years and came home with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Malaria. After many months in the Hospital, he recovered, met his wife and started a family. A daughter Megan and a stepdaughter Angie. Jim worked at Zellerback Paper while raising his family. Then his illness overcame him and he became disabled to his death October 19, 2012. Jim is remembered for his fun loving spirit and his love for god. Widower by his last wife Cheryl.Avery. He is survived by his daughter Megan Carnahan and her two children Christian and Cate. His brothers John Avery, William Avery and their families. Graveside Services will be on Nov 2, 2012 at 3PM at Canyon Hill Cemetery. The family wants to thank the VA, Trinity Health Care, Capital Care Center, Misty and Steve, for the good care, kindness and compassion they showed him.
