Reece Garro Obituary

G. Reece Garro
1940 ~ 2012
Reece Garro, 72 of Meridian, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2012 after a brief illness. He was born August 27, 1940 in Blackfoot, Idaho to John and Francese Garro. He attended school in Rupert, Idaho and graduated from Minidoka County High School in 1958 where he enjoyed participating in football, basketball and track.

Together they had 3 sons, David (Sandra) Garro, Horseshoe Bend, Idaho, Jeff Garro, Boise, Idaho and Jake (Heidi) Garro, Meridian, Idaho. Reece briefly served in the Idaho National Guard. From 1962 until 1984 Reece and his brother, Larry Garro, operated Garro Sheep Company. Reece and his family spent summers in Soda Springs, Idaho where they had many fond memories, and winters in Rupert, Idaho during those years. After retiring from the sheep business, Reece worked in the fertilizer industry until his retirement in July 2010.
Reece's love for Minico sports continued until he and his wife Mary K., of 49 years, 11 months and 8 days, retired and moved to Meridian, Idaho in July of 2011 to be close to their children and much loved granddaughters. Reece enjoyed traveling, watching BSU football, having coffee at McDonalds with his friends and attending his granddaughters' numerous activities and sporting events. He loved his family, particularly his three granddaughters, Brenna, Anna and Halle, who ruled his life.
He is survived by his wife Mary K., his three sons, 2 daughters-in-law and three granddaughters. Reece was preceded in death by his parents and brother.

Mary Kay I am so sorry. Gary and I almost made it to 50 years just like you and Reese. When you spend so many years together you become like one person. Memories help get you through. You have great sons and their families to help you. I am sorry I can't make it to the funeral but I have a lady living with me for a few months that I can't leave. I hope Reese has met up with Gary and they are talking about all the good old times. We will talk later. My prayers are with you.

May the love of family and friends help carry you through your time of grief.
I have many good memories of my times with Reece both during high school and later when hunting with him and his sons in Soda. Reece will be missed but we know he is in a better place watching over his family.
