Earl L. Cooper

Earl Long Cooper 91, Noblesville, passed away Monday, September 7, 2009, in Rochester. He was born on May 3, 1918, in Crawfordsville, Indiana to Harry and Josephine (Long) Cooper. He graduated from Shortridge High School in 1937 and received a Bachelor's degree from Indiana University in 1940. He served in the Army Air Corps in WWII. Earl spent his entire professional career active in the insurance industry. He served as secretary of the Indiana Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and as president of Cooper Insurance Service from 1940 to 2005. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Noblesville; the Lapel Lions Club; the Mystic Tie Masonic Lodge in Indianapolis; and the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at Indiana University. He is survived by three children, Judy Williams of Noblesville, Susan Cooper of Minneapolis, MN, and William (wife, Barbara) Cooper of Noblesville; three grandchildren, John Williams of Tuttle, OK, Elizabeth (husband, Denver) Sampson of Anderson, and Molly Cooper of Minneapolis, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 67 years, Anne Clifford Cooper; and a brother, H. P. Cooper, Jr. A memorial service will be held at Noon Saturday, September 12, 2009, at First Christian Church in Noblesville with Pastor Glenn Kimball officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to Noon Saturday, September 12, 2009, at First Christian Church, 16377 Herriman Blvd., Noblesville.
