James Matters Obituary

James L. Matters

born on February 10th, 1934, left this earth on April 11th, 2016. He was a Korean war veteran and a 32nd degree Mason. He worked at the English Avenue Ford plant for 32 years.

He leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Josephine "Dolly" Matters, his son Keith (Maria) Matters, step children Maryanne Iaria and Pete (Marty) Iaria, grandchildren Eric Matters, Stephen (Amy) Matters, Bridget (John) Watts, Abigail Perdue and Joshua Perdue, 1 brother, Pat Matters, and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for April 24th, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the MCL at 2370 W. 86th St., Indianapolis, IN 46260. Please visit his online obituary at

To the Matters family. So sorry for you loss. I knew Jim from the Credit Union (Double 11) for many years. He was also such a nice man and always had a smile when I would see him.
