Joyce Welch Obituary

Joyce Gail Wolven Welch 72, Indianapolis, passed away Friday, June 4, 2010. She was born September 22, 1937 to Everett A. and Nina G. (Pope) Wolven. Joyce worshipped with the Eastside Church of Christ, where she was an active member for 35 years. A resident of Franklin Township for 47 years, she drove a school bus for Franklin Township Schools after working several years at Western Electric. Preceding her in death is husband of 50 years, Paul T. Welch and her brother, Maurice Wolven. She is survived by her three children, Dennis (Sharon) Welch, Cynthia (Joseph) Riley and Doug Welch; as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Virgil (Mary Ann), Wayne (Donita) and Darrell (Jane) Wolven and sister, Rosalee (Edward) Stone and a multitude of beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 9 at 1 p.m. in Oakley-Hammond Funeral Home, Moore and Kirk Irvington Chapel, 5342 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, with visitation at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, June 9 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Rather than flowers, the family requests donations be made to feed poor children in Cambodia. Send donations to Central Church of Christ, 4368 N. Sutter Street, Stockton, CA 95204, memo, "In Memory of Joyce."
